Women's Health
PrairieStar's staff includes providers who specialize in women's health issues. Women's health services include:
- Physicals
- Pap tests
- Breast exams
- STD testing
- Yeast infection treatment
- Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) treatment
PrairieStar participates in Kansas' Early Detection Works (EDW) program. The Early Detection Workseducational component is directed toward all women in Kansas. Women who qualify receive free education, screening, diagnosis, case management, and referral for cancer treatment.
To qualify for these services, a woman's income must fall within 225% of federal poverty guidelines and she must be between the ages of 40 and 64. Further, a woman must have no health insurance or inpatient-only insurance with a high, unmet deductible. If screenings detect any abnormalities, Early Detection Works will pay for diagnostic procedures.
