Minor Procedures

PrairieStar is available for people who want to see a doctor for an illness or injury that is not serious. We provide evaluation and treatment - usually within 24 hours - for minor procedures that are not emergencies. Our providers offer treatment such as stitches for lacerations, removal of foreign bodies and muscle sprains and strains.

Some minor injuries and illnesses that might be treated at PrairieStar include:

  • Cuts that may require sutures (stitches)
  • Muscle sprains and strains
  • Allergic reactions
  • Sports injuries
  • X-ray evaluations
  • Sunburn
  • Poison Ivy and other rashes
  • Nausea
  • Influenza
  • Persistent cough or sore throat
  • High fever
  • Infections
  • Headache

Emergency rooms are designed to treat serious or life-threatening conditions. If you have an emergency health care situation, go to the emergency room or call 911 for assistance.
